Lockdown ⚠️

I’m not going to write a long message here. We are all aware of what’s happening across the globe with this COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Stay Home – Only go out if you need to purchase food, medication or assist those in the vulnerable categories.
  • Social Distancing – Stand at least 2 metres apart when queuing.
  • Stop stockpiling – Only buy whats needed. It broke my heart last week Wednesday, seeing people fighting over food (with trolleys full of food.) Sick and elderly and NHS staff unable to purchase essential items,

*If you care about your friends, family and community you live in. I implore you to stay indoors!

Please follow the government’s advice and stay indoors! Those of you who have to go out for work, buying food, etc. Please adhere to social distancing rules.

Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying if you care enough for the living make it a better place for you and for me’ – Michael Jackson

Is It Ever Okay To Throw Food Away?

Is it ever okay to throw food away?

I was raised to finish my meal, which was always whatever was shared out for me. Many different family members often told me, ‘don’t waste food, people are starving in…’

I remember eating everything until my serving was gone. Even though I was not hungry sometimes, I ate the meal as I was told never to waste food. I felt guilty about leaving anything, so I always cleared my plate.

The irony is fast-forwarding to 2020, and I’m here in bed, wondering if I didn’t eat all the food from my plate – what will it mean? Is it wasting? If for example the peas weren’t picked to make mushy peas, they would have ripened and then died and perished.

I completely understand that someone somewhere would have appreciated this. However, is it logical to think that my leftover portion of pasta, would make it across the world to someone in need? Or even a mile away to someone here in the UK? Then people would say it’s mean to give someone my scraps. They would rather you threw it away and purchased a meal for someone in need.

I’m by no means advocating wasting food. I’m merely posing the question above: Is it ever okay to throw food away?

I suppose meat-eaters feel little remorse, as they subconsciously acknowledge that the meat they eat, was once a live animal. As if the animal chose to die for me to eat, to survive. Our world is deluded.

I’m aware that many people will think, ‘share out what you need, portion control!’ But come on, how realistic is that for the masses? There are times when I’ve been out to restaurants and had a meal, where I can’t finish it all. Or when I order curry sauce and chips, the kinds of meals that can’t be reheated. I do store excess food in glass containers in the fridge, and I do try to control the portions I have. However, food will always be wasted from time to time, wouldn’t it?

I digress.

I wish we were all plant-based, as we wouldn’t have the number of issues we have today. Yes, I’m referring to the viruses that come from humans eating animals. The water in Venice runs clear for the first time in many years, fishes have returned, and swans are embracing the free flow of human-less spaces.

I know once the world has the all-clear, many of you will return to your ignorant ways. Polluting the waters, we share with other lives – although, I feel they should have priority. Many will continue to eat animal corpses; viruses will form, and we inevitably will recycle old memories in different eras.’

Every

Night Routine

Last night I realised I’ve created a night routine that works for me.

Before, I used to eat late and wonder why I couldn’t sleep later on. I would toss and turn, then text and view – a plethora of nonsensical things available online. Imagine, I would lay in bed feeling exhausted but unable to sleep. How I longed for sleep back then.

Now…

  • Turn my phone on ‘Do Not Disturb.’
  • I have a hot-steamy shower.
  • I massage olive-oil into my skin.
  • I light an incense stick (blueberry is my favourite scent at this present moment.)
  • Play Owl by HM Surf *I’m loving lofi/ambient tunes
  • Slip into my Harry potter tee and drift into a deep sleep.

I wake up feeling amazing.

Which has me in a positive mood and feeling well-rested.

Do you have a routine?

A Positive Tip

Anxiety

It only takes one word, one action, one thought.

Anxiety eats through me, like Bloody Mary’s onslaught.

I try not to think, but I think over and over.

I speak, and nothing makes sense, anxiety takes over.

Most times, I manage it and peace keeps me going.

Meditations in the morning, Chilled Cow tones flowing.

Inhale deeply, on repeat and taking in the calm.

Exhale gracefully, on repeat I push out fears.

Eliminating this moment, or rather shrinking it down.

Anxiety does not define me.

Anxiety does not define me.

There are times when I feel too anxious to go out for a morning run. Times when anxiety takes over. I push through, I do. Well, at least I try.

I understand your fears about running around the block and believing that everyone is watching you. Or attending the gym and thinking everyone is watching you. Or buying new clothes and thinking everyone is watching you. Or eating curry sauce and chips and thinking everyone is watching you.

We must all learn to push through!

We have weight-loss goals to achieve.

We have fitness goals to smash.

We have health goals to be proud about.

Anxiety does not define me.

Blue Monday

Blue is a beautiful colour.

Don’t allow society to influence you into believing Mondays are blue and everyone feels down. That is not the case.

I feel great!

It’s Monday; it’s a new week 😊

Be present, be positive and be YOU.

Who else is better to experience your life?

Yep, we all know life isn’t easy. But that does not mean that we have to spend time dwelling upon the negatives.

Others will still label their Mondays as ‘BLUE.’

But for me, blue is peace; blue is harmony, blue is unique.

I wish you all a beautiful day! *If you do struggle today, push through and own your time.

No Lbs Lost

No Lbs Lost

When I step on the scale and see that I have not lost any weight, but equally have not gained. I don’t promote negative energy to dwell on the fact that I’ve not lost any weight.

Instead, I focus on the weight I’ve not gained, and this comforts me.

I wonder what I did this week so that I did not gain anything? Knowing this will no doubt help when I reach my goal weight – to remain at my goal weight.

Remember, it is not only about how much weight you lose. It’s also about how much weight you don’t gain!

Motivation 🧘🏾‍♀️🌱

Shopping, shopping, stop!

Shopping, Shopping, Stop!

I went shopping while hungry, I bought vegan pizza, spicy wedges, apple juice and mushrooms.

I’m tired though.

I got home and unpacked my shopping and saw I had bought, vegan pizza, spicy wedges, apple juice, mushrooms, pringles, bagels, coco-powder, hand-wash, cotton pads, curry powder, peppers and other things I don’t need.

My advice never shop when you’re tired.

Just stop! Go home and sleep.

Like now, like me, I’m tired. I’m home, I shall now sleep.

You’re wonderful 💚

Long Days

Long days like this, long days like that, I stretch here and there. I wish I wasn’t.

Long days at work, breed temptation to want to consume sugar.

I need energy!

I want biscuits.

I have a sweet tea.

But the energy is short-lived.

The energy is short-lived.

The weight gain is slowly creeping in.

Supplement your long days with healthy options; fruits, veg or oats!

Stay hydrated.

Get up and move around.

Long days and sugar aren’t compatible.

I Weigh

Questions

I weigh what I weigh.

What can I say?

You ask the same questions. Yet, my weight is my weight, knowing my figures won’t change anything.

Not for you anyway.

I weigh what I weigh, what more can I say!

Why do you ask? What difference will it make?

None.

Exactly.

Chilled Cow

Every morning and most nights, I tune into Chilled Cow via YouTube.

This channel helps me to think and to relax.

Relax and to rest.

Life is always running until the end.

In the grass, I stretch my body out. I roll, roll and stop!

I am only one person.

My life has peaks and troughs.

The sounds they vibe around me, dreamville and back on a loop.

I will always take time out and away, for my life is for me and not for you.

To be…
